Thank you Heather! Looking at some of your other nominations, I'm honored to be included in your list--in fact I may be hard-pressed to avoid double nominations! I find a lot of inspiration in (and feel very personally connected to) your writing too. : )

You are so lucky to be able to see the Monarch migration. I feel blessed if I even see one of these beautiful butterflies. Your post was beautifully written - you managed to put into words some of the feelings that I also have when marveling at and reveling in nature.

Thank you Ali. I hope I can find some good solutions as well--for both my family and for myself.

Though I can't help thinking that the best solution would probably to put some distance between us! :-D

As someone who has also suffered from strained family relations, I totally understand where you're coming from, and I wish you the best of luck in coping. I know how difficult it can be when you find yourself falling into old habits--the frustration towards others for expecting you to, and towards yourself for not somehow being better or stronger. I've been working hard for years, each time I visit home for a week or so, to cultivate the practices that help me to center and "remember myself." This past summer during two weeks visiting home, I was able to maintain my nightly meditation and my morning yoga, and that along with a patient insistence that I be given solitude when I needed it really did help a great deal. I really hope you find ways to overcome these difficulties and you and your family reach a better understanding where you can relate to and respect each other as adults. :)

This post was spurred by, I suspect, the same person through two different people's experiences. My experience of this person was, in both cases, through these secondhand accounts, but similar in tone and general arrogance to make me suspect he's getting more confident in beating up newcomers to a particular forum.

I have yet to see an honest, devoted, reasonable Celtic polytheist group or individual who has ever ascribed primary importance (or necessity) to blood lineage or tribal heritage. The only ones I've seen are flimsy fronts for racially-inspired agendas and movements, and have been duly ridiculed and debunked by the genuine ones. And that makes me optimistic, in at least the fact that honest followers can clearly see right through it.

This is the third or fourth post in the past week that I've seen on the issue of racism and ethnic tribalism in the Pagan community. Makes me think maybe there's some current moving or synchronicity going on. Happily, every single post on the subject I've seen has, like yours, come out strongly in the name of tolerance and mutual appreciation of diversity. This at least makes me optimistic.

Morning is my favourite time of the day as well!

Prayer has become very important to me in my spiritual path, and I have also been drawn toward Brighid. Prayer in the morning and evening is a way to begin and end my day in a spiritual manner, focusing myself on my path and my spiritual development.

Your prayers are beautiful; thanks for sharing them.
